Prayer Needed

Please take a moment to pray for some friends of ours, Terri and Austin. They lost their baby last night an hour after he was born. I could not imagine what they are going through and know that only the love of our Almighty Father can get them through this.

Jacob, who they call Jake, was a very sick baby from the start so they knew he was likely to pass upon birth. Their blog, Forward Motion, shares more about Jake's diagnoses and how much love they have for him. 

A new song out has a chorus that goes: "Light, light, light up the sky; Light up the sky to show that You are with us." Please join W and I in praying that for Terri and Austin. That God would light up their sky in this time of disaster so that they will know He is there. Whenever you hear that song, please pray for Terri and Austin.

W and I were talking and it is so sad how our sin brought death into this world. God created us to be in constant, face-to-face communion with Him--walking with Him daily. Death came into this world because of sin. Precious innocent Jake died because of a lost world; but we know that Christ saved Jake and can save us too. W reminded me of this verse: "if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land." 2 Chronicles 7:14

That is what we pray. That the inhabitants of this earth would humble ourselves and turn to the Lord, pleading for His healing on us--healing that we know will only come when Christ returns. In spite of what seems like meaningless death of a baby, we pray Philippians 3:14: "I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus."
