I know I said I would just do my hair different on the weekend but I couldn't wait to try this one out. My hair has been driving me crazy now that it is longer and I really wanted to do something more than a messy bun, which I sport every day. That in part is why I am taking on this challenge. So that I resist the urge to cut it all off.
I actually really liked wearing this french braid but to be honest with you all it didn't last long with a little munchkin who insist on pulling my hair at every turn. So I thought it would be fun to not only give you a play by play on how I did my hair but also a longevity test. Because let's face it as mamas if we are going to do our hair we want it to last longer than one minute. Okay so here are some pictures:

Front view and some cuteness:
How I did it: I let my hair air dry and just before it was fully dry, I sectioned a small piece at the top of my head and braided then continued to add sections and braid until I was out of hair. I think it probably would have looked better if I used a mirror and a smaller hairband to tie it back but I was doing it while LB played trains so I did with what I had.
Time investment: 1 minute.
Product: Hair band.
Longevity: About an hour. I think it would have lasted longer if I wasn't rolling around wrestling with LB but that is his favorite thing to do. Roll around, have tickle fights, and blow raspberries. Rough life ;)
Do you guys have any suggestions on what you think I should do next? I'm up for anything! :) Anybody else up for the challenge??
I think it's cute! I've been keeping mine up all summer to resist cutting it off, too. It's getting to that horribly long layered, but not long enough for some styles phase. Boo.
ReplyDeleteHahah, I love the "longevity" note...that is such a relevant point!! I think this one could be good for ya, and it's durable! http://makinghomehomemade.blogspot.com/2011/06/30dos-day-13.html
ReplyDeleteI found you blog and I really enjoyed it! Your little guy is so cute :) And I love the french braid!
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of big hair... so next do something BIG :) I'm talking tease the crown 'til it's miss texas large, and spray hair spray 'til its stiff ... then either put it in a pony and tease the pony (makes the top teasing last longer).. or just the top half pulled back.. Maybe with a flower :) Doesn't take too long unless your hair needs straighened! Good luck finding new hair styles.. I feel like I have about 6 that I rotate between and everything else I don't like the way it looks on me. But I have been loving the french braid the bangs look this summer.. keeps my head nice and cool while Coltybug and I are out and about!
ReplyDeleteLove French braids and chignons - my hair is almost long enough again to wear them!
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend!
Linda
So when I saw your blog title from my blog I thought it said "hair french brEAD!" I kept reading and waiting for your story to discuss the bread. It wasn't until the end that I realized there was no bread in this blog. Just a cute bread and some cuteness!
ReplyDeleteAnd BTW, I'd give you pointers on a hairstyle, but my hair usually just stays down or in a pony tail. wa-wa.
haha, I still said bread at the end instead of BRAID. What is wrong with me!?!?
