We have been away from home for a month. To be precise we left Thanksgiving Day and finally returned home Christmas morning. We lived in a hotel room with 2 beds and a pack'n'play. We did have an occasional night at different family members houses. But by in large we have lived out of a hotel room.
It's been a long month. One full of head colds, a nasty stomach bug, no schedule, and lots of nomadic living. But I wouldn't trade it for anything. We got to spend sweet time with extended family and dear friends, although not nearly enough time to enjoy everyone. We also managed to squeeze in some really fun places for kids and went down to Silver Dollar City and saw the Dugger family there!
Being away thru what feels like the entire Christmas season made me realize just how much I love my little family of four! And how much joy they bring me and those around. On days that felt like they would never end LB knew just how to cheer us all up and would dance around singing to us making us all crack up. He has a knack for turning any bad thing into something joyful. I love that about him. And AB has been blossoming even more into her personality. She is one of the happiest babies I've ever seen. She smiles at everyone and is content in whoever a hands are holding her. She radiates joy. The theme of this month has definitely been joy in the midst of craziness. And although it didn't really feel like Christmas time I liked this feeling better. One of appreciation for what I have and having a family that truly loves and wants to spread joy.
I know I missed ABs 5 month post. I will probably write it the day I do her 6 month one bc I don't want to miss having it out of our family journal, this here blog.
Ill leave you with a few of my favorite pictures from the month. A view from our hotel, the kids Christmas caroling, and AB Christmas ready :)
Oh my goodness you are brave. I definitely couldn't handle being away from home that long with two little ones! Glad you found lots of good in the experience :)
