Q&A part one

So I decided to break the questions up by relationship/family questions and fun questions. So here are all the answers to the questions about our family. I had fun doing this! Thanks for asking :)

How did you meet your hubby?
Hubs and I met at college. Well technically the first time we met he was still in High school and we went to the same concert together with a mutual friend of ours. I remember the first time I saw him thinking he was so cute and loved how deep his voice was but unfortunately he had a girlfriend. He then came up to college that next year and we were in the same Christian community group, Ichthus. I loved hearing His heart for God and how passionate He was about helping others understand who God is.  His first year there we ran in the same circle but he still had a girlfriend so I kept my distance. When we came back from summer break him and his girlfriend had broke up and we ended up on the same service team. It was so great to get to serve alongside him and see His passion for the Lord in action. We became fast friends and soon both of us had quite the crush on each other.
We didn't start dating until November of that year, and I'm not sure if it would have happened that year if in a leaders meeting someone hadn't of said "When are you two going to start dating?" I remember being so upset because I had told this girl I really liked W and then she announced it to the whole group! The worst part was that W and I had rode together for the meeting and I kid you not on the way home the only conversation we had was about the weather. I remember getting home and telling my 7 roommates all about it and how I couldn't believe W didn't ask me out on the way home. Well....our mutual friend (the one we went to the concert with) told him that night that he really needed to talk to me and that I was really mad at him. Haha, that definitely kicked him into high gear and that next night he took me out to Sonic and we talked. Yes we are high-class and started dating at Sonic ;)
I fell in love with him fast and knew in the first month we would get married! I remember the first time he kissed me was right before Winter Break. He originally had set up a mistletoe in his dorm room to kiss me under for the first time but chickened out. He then walked me to my car and as I was about to get in with the snow falling down hard he spun me around and kissed me. I literally almost fell over from it and was so glad my car was there to catch me. (I was so embarrassed about it but I acted like it was graceful like in all the movies when the girl faints from her first kiss from her beloved) We continued dating and I fell more and more in love and thought he would never ask me to marry him but luckily August rolled around and right before we headed back to school he asked me! He made a porch swing for me and hung it in a park at sunset. Love!
We got married the following June and have now been married for 4 wonderful years! Which leads to the next question: When did you decide to have a baby?

I wanted a baby from day 1 but knew it wasn't a good time as we were moving from Kansas to Washington DC so W could attend grad school at Georgetown. So we moved across country and landed in DC for 2 years. We knew we didn't want to have kid while we were there and so far away from family so we were just waiting for the Lord to let us know when. Luckily, God had plans for us to move back to the Midwest. Once we were 100% sure we were moving and had a house we began trying. We tried for 6 months, which felt like forever, then got pregnant with our little LB :)

How many kids do you want?

Good question! Well I wanted 4 and hubs wanted 2 so we have compromised at 3. BUT right after having my C-section I told W I was done ;) I'm sure in a few more months I will come back around to the idea of having more. We would though love to adopt a child. So we will see, we are just happy with LB for now and are waiting on the Lord for direction on what to do with our family in the future.

Do/did you two ever feel inadequate?

Ummm yes, all the time! It is such a big step to take to start a family and to let go of all the insecurities that come along with it. We both had such a peace about knowing God wanted our family to grow, whether naturally or through adoption, but just weren't sure on when He wanted it all to happen. Once we got the green light from God I was so scared that I wouldn't be able to be a good mom. I am glad the Bible is full of so many wonderful men and women that I knew God will lead our child(ren) to Himself no matter how great of parents we are. That is why we have the verse "For He shall give His angels charge over you to keep you in all your ways" Psalm 91:11 over LB's changing table. It is a constant reminder to both W and me that God is watching over LB all the time. That in those moments when LB is screaming his heart out or pooping all over everything we know God is watching over Him and us.

Hope that helps you all know a little more about my life, my hubby, and our family. We are so blessed and praise the Lord daily for the work He is doing.
