Monday Miscellany

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Hop on over to Carissa's blog and join in the miscellany.

*ONE* W went out of town for two weeks. That meant I was fully responsible for managing our household and LB. I wasn't sure I would survive, but I did. Those two weeks made me appreciate my husband a whole whole lot and made me realize how much he makes this household function. Needless to say both LB and I are glad he has returned. LB even showed his appreciation by returning to 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep a night. Thank heavens.

*TWO* Trader Joe's opens this FRIDAY! I am so excited to get one here. I even thought about skipping mops so that I could spend hours there, but I think I will just settle for a short trip and make a longer  one next week.

*THREE* This week I am embracing a dairy-free lifestyle. The doctor has suspected that LB may have a milk allergy but we all have been reluctant to test this theory thinking it was just sinuses or airborne allergens but now that the first frost came and went and he is still having all the same issues I figured this is worth a try. Part of me hopes this is not the issue because I can't imagine a morning without my Brown Cow Maple yogurt but the other part of me hopes this is it so that he will feel better.

*FOUR* Daylight savings is a joke. I use to love falling back an hour but apparently babies don't understand what an extra hour of sleep can do for you. So we have been awaking promptly at 6am ready to play. I'm hoping in a few weeks he has adjusted to the time change.

*FIVE* It's the most wonderful time of the year. Yep, I have been listening to Christmas music since the first of November and I love it. Nothing gets you in the mood for snow and bundling up more than a Christmas carol or two ;) I have also been starting our Christmas list. and looking into what to get others But I will not shop until the day after Thanksgiving. I am one of those crazies that loves black friday I truly do. Something about the mad rush to get the best deal gets me all hyped up.

*SIX* We are hosting Thanksgiving. I just decided last week to invite everyone up to our place to enjoy Thanksgiving with us. Not sure if this is a crazy idea but at least it will be fun. I love to cook and bake so I'm excited to try out some new recipes I have been eying since all the Thanksgiving magazines have come out.

*SEVEN* LB has started on solids and loves them. He tries everyday to feed himself and is actually quite good with the spoon. Sure a lot of it ends up on his bib or the chair but it is fun to watch him learn. He even tries to eat off of my banana in the mornings. He is growing up so quick now....I really would like that pause button ;)

  1. A banana is the first thing I let each of the kids feed themselves. Matthew gets a banana every morning. He's a mess afterwards, but he loves it! :) Love reading you updates, miss oyu!

  2. LB is moving and shaking! Gotta watch him :)

And I am excited about you all getting a Trader Joe's! I was just there last night. Cheap and Organic, what more can you ask for?! It has to be my favorite grocery store.

  3. I love my Trader Joes! Good luck with going Dairy free. That would be hard for me, but if I had to do it for my child, I would most definately! Praying his allergies get better. I hated Daylight Savings as a mom when when kids were babies. I can't wait for Black Friday. Money is tight but my daughters and I love to go and people watch!
