Random happenings

I am so behind on the updates that I am just going to do a few of them at once. Instead of trying to make a bunch of short post. So here is our past few days/weeks in random form :)

~1~ We had a date day Saturday. Which was so wonderful. I love getting out with just the hubs and I enjoying a cappuccino without holding a sweet boy while trying to down my coffee. I love to just have some time to gaze in hubs eyes and hear his heart. I love that man! He melts my heart even more now that we have LB. We are so blessed to have great friends that we swap childcare with so that us adults can enjoy dates. Here is my favorite picture of our time away of LB. Poor kid must have never thought we were coming back. Be assured he only cried for a few minutes, their sweet girl was back to entertaining him in no time.

~2~ God has pressed on our heart again to start up a house church. I shared about it for the first time here but a lot has changed since then. First off, it has been over a year since that first pressing on our hearts. And we unsuccessfully started a group and then abandoned it. We really felt though that God was closing the door to it for a time being and that we needed to let it go. But just in the last month God has stirred both Wade and I's heart to begin again. It is scary though. To go back to that place again, to really be completely and totally vulnerable with what God is doing in our lives and how we are failing at being who God wants us to be. But it is also so exciting at the same time. To be able to feel God and see God moving in ways that we haven't before. To hear how God is using other people and what His plans are for each of  us. There is nothing that compares to genuine community of believers. We yearn for that. We pray each day for that. And our hope is that this time around God will use house church to be a vessel of His unfailing love and grace.

~3~ LB has officially moved into a new carseat! Can I tell you all that was such a hard decision. Now that the AAP has recommended keeping your tot rear facing until 2 it made it even harder to choose which seat to install. But we found one and LB loves it! He loves that he can see out the window now in the car and has a whole new world to explore while we drive along.
Trying out his new seat looking like such a big boy!

~4~ It is about time to start planting our garden. I am so excited to have home grown food again. Not only does it help our budget out tremendously but nothing compares to the taste of a strawberry picked straight from the vine. I promise in the next few weeks W will do a guest post about gardening, since lets face it he is the green thumb in this family.
Look at this tomato from last summer and how little LB was

~5~ Speaking of budgets I have turned into quite the couponing lady. Last week I went to target and saved $31. It is so fun to watch the total go down as they ring in the coupons. I'm no pro at it but I do enjoy seeing the number get smaller and smaller. I also got cereal the other week for about .15 cents a box. I kind of wish I had stocked up more but oh well, I'm sure it will go on sale again. I am slowly getting W on board with stocking up on stuff while it is on sale. He hates clutter, so stockpiling is not a fan of his. But we are slowly figuring out which things to have extra of and which things will go on sale in time for when we need them again.

Well LB is awaking so I better go grab him. Enjoy your day!

  1. Good work on the couponing! Do you have a system? I have thought about getting into it, but now with the 2 littles I'm not sure if it would be too much work.

  2. I can't wait for the garden post! We have a little area for vegetables but I have no clue what I'm doing.

You should definitely post on some tips in regards to couponing. Your savings is amazing. :)
