One year

My baby is a year old today! Say what? I can hardly believe it! One year ago today I was getting ready to head into the hospital not really knowing what to expect but beyond excited to meet our little bundle. LB has been a blessing ever since. We never knew our family was missing something until he arrived and we have been blessed by him ever since.

You are a year old! Can you believe one year ago today you entered the world at 9:30pm last year screaming and ever so cute? We are so thankful God chose us to be your parents and that we get to spend each day loving on you. Mommy doesn't have your stats yet, we go to the doc at the end of the month, but I think you are around 23 lbs and 32" tall.

You are learning so many new things this month. You will stand on your own for a few seconds at a time and you are still cruising all over the place making sure to keep one finger holding on to something at all times. Once you let go though I am sure you will be walking full speed. Your favorite word is that and all day long you point at everything asking me "that". I am sure you brain is moving so fast trying to take in everything around you.

You love books! You will often crawl over to your book shelf and pull books out and wait for us to read them to you. Your eyes light up real big as we read the stories and you will clap to your favorite parts...it is so cute! You know exactly what is coming next in the book and I love watching your eyes get big with anticipation.

You are still quite the ham and every time we are out and about you want to smile and wave at everyone. You love when they look back at you and then you can begin pointing at everything on them asking "that". Most everyone plays along with your game and you just light up throwing your head about and laughing.

You are saying a few more words this months. Mommy, daddy, milk, dog, dirt, book, and that. It is funny to see what words you repeat over and over again while other words you will just say once and move on. I have a feeling you are going to be quite the chatter box though because you are babbling all day long. I'm excited to hear what all those thoughts are soon.

You still light up whenever your daddy gets home from work and will beeline to the stairs and sit and wait for him to come up and grab you. Once you are in his arms you laugh about and begin babbling away, I think you are telling him all about your day :) You have also learned how to give kisses to us this month but still sometimes get it mixed up and bite us. You have all 4 top and bottom teeth now and are working on those pesty molars. You still want to wake up at least once at night...I think you just like seeing daddy as much as you can while he is home. You are eating 3 full meals a day and 2 snacks. You love feeding yourself especially out of the squeeze tube baby food. Your favorite snack as of late is sour cream and onion bunnies(Annie's snacks). I bought them on sale at target for me and you just devoured them. We have yet to find a food you don't like. 

You now take all your naps in your crib. Usually one 45 minute one in the morning and a 2 or 3 hour one in the afternoon. I have to admit I sometimes miss you cuddling me while you sleep but I am so proud of you sleeping on your own and mommy is able to get lots accomplished during your naps so that we have more time to play together when your awake!

We are so proud of you LB and beyond blessed to be your parents! You make our family so much more fun and we daily praise God for you. We continue to pray you will come to know Jesus as your Father and that we will be examples of his love to you daily. We could not be happier with the little boy we have in you!
