Is that the proper way to title a blog post? {Truth} Some days I spend more time thinking of a title then actually writing the post. So today this post is being titled Yo because that's the first word that came to my mind.
I feel like everyone around me is in a funk. Whether its my in-person friends or my far away friends. It must be the season for funky-ness. I myself am not really experiencing this. Which is nice but kind of weird. Ya know, because I figure I should be in a funk when everyone else is. But then it hit me. God doesn't want us all to be in funk town together. He wants us who are joyful to share joy with those around and give them encouragement. Pray for them, encourage them, and above all show them love. So if you are in a funk, know that I am praying for you. I am praying the joy of the Lord will fill you again and you will experience His joy unspeakable. That He will wipe away the sins of the world in your life and refresh you. You would be reminded of His promises. His goodness. His unmistakable joy. I write those words to encourage you. As Hebrews 3:13 says:
"But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness."
Don't hear me wrong, I have been in a funk or two in my life. Some very seemingly unbearable times and the Lord pulled me out of them and reminded me He has the greatest and best plans. He reminded me to put my trust in Him and daily surrender to Him and He would set me free from the bondage of sin and of life in a sinful world. And He did, He does. He is faithful.
So as we all prepare to give Thanks with our family in a few days remember to give thanks to the Lord above. Who is the one who rescues us from all the pains of the world. And if you are in the midst of those pains I will be praying for you and so will those around you. Share the burden with us so that the Lord may clean them away.
Philippians 2:13 says "For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him." It is encouraging to know that God will come through and that even though we feel like we're in a funk, it will get better.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, the holidays bring out feelings, sometimes unwanted ones. I miss you and your wonderful spirit! Happy Thanksgiving early!
ReplyDeleteWell. Written. I appreciate this insight...as I've been in a funk. :) Maybe it's the getting dark too early evenings or the colder weather...I dunno, but I DO know that the Lord has pulled me out of such a funk before, and He will do it again. His promises are everlasting and SO very encouraging. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank-you for the encouraging post!
