Week 22

Friday is bump watch day! Sorry to have not included one last week but with all the excitement of the 4d ultrasound we forgot to take a bump shot... I'm sure you all forgive me. So this time I decided to put my hair up... not sure it is a better look than the frizz it has been but it was easy ;) I find it amazing how much he has stretched my belly out and how much it looks like a baby is really inside me now! At first people thought I was just packing on the pounds... I'm not joking either I had some of my youth group girls come up to me and say are you pregnant or did you just gain weight. Love how blunt those kids are! If you ever want straight up honesty about how you look or what people are thinking about you work with youth, they don't hold back, but that is a whole different story. Now on to this week....

Side shot... week 22

Hubby loves the fact that my belly button is being pushed out by baby boy. So I thought I'd show you all how much he is pushing it out. I truly hate belly buttons so this is one of my least favorite things about pregnancy but I am interested to see how long it takes to fully pop out.
Belly button shot... week 22

How far along? today I am 22 weeks and 5 days

Baby is the size of a(n): He is about the length of spaghetti squash and weighs a little over a pound.

Changes in me: See picture above... my belly button!

Food cravings: See yesterdays post. I am all about brownies this week. So yummy! I am definitely glad baby g is starting to develop his sweet tooth. He even has kicked me each time I eat brownies because he wants more, of course ;)

Sleeping: Sleep is overrated.

Milestones: This is definitely not a milestone I am all together thrilled about but I noticed my first stretch mark the other day on my hip. I at first thought I had dropped makeup on my hip and left a mark on me... but after scrubbing for a minute it didn't leave. Good thing these go away after pregnancy. Please don't tell me differently :) As far as baby milestone is he is starting to develop tooth buds beneath his gums.

Babies activity: His kicks are quite strong now and I am able to feel him alot more throughout the day and night. I'm also fairly certain he had hiccups the other night cause he kept moving in one spot and it felt like little hiccups inside my belly. Too cute :)

Interesting things that happened this past week/anticdotes: I was in target buying a baby outfit and the check out lady looked at my belly to see if it was for me or a gift. I guess the sweatshirt I was wearing disguised my belly enough cause she asked if I needed a gift reciept after that. But it cracked me up that she had no shame leaning her head over the scanner to check out my bump. I should have just pulled my sweatshirt up and said "is this what you were lookin for?" too funny! Is it weird that I actually enjoy people looking at my belly and asking how far along I am or people putting their hands on my belly. Yes, I am one of those pregnant gals that make people think its acceptable to come up to all pregnant women and touch them and ask question. Now I am not comfortable with people sharing their birth stories with me if I don't know them but lucky I have avoided that so far.

  1. Random thoughts as I read your post...(I love reading your updates!)

    - Your belly button may not pop out, mine never did. Depends on how you carry them. I always carried high...which meant I spent a couple of months not breathing, so I'm not sure it was a good trade-off. :)

    - I was directing some of the youth in our church in hauling some stuff up from the basement and made a joke about it being a bad idea for the pregnant woman with no center of gravity to move stuff...one of the 7th grade girls looked at me in shock and said "You're pregnant? I didn't know that!" I see this girl at least twice a week. I was around 30 weeks. Youth are amazing.

    - You will soon reach the point where people will stop giving you "the glance" trying to figure out whether or not you are pregnant or just overweight. Soon it'll just be "when are you due?"

    - I will let you live in your lovely stretch mark fantasy if you like...:) (Shea butter and other lotions help.)

    - Aren't hiccups fun?

    - Eat a brownie for me! (I miss brownies.)

Love you girl! Excited to read about your journey!

  2. You look so cute Kelly! I especially love the "heart" belly photo. You should develop that in black and white, I think it would look really cool that way. And I couldn't help looking at your wedding ring as well, oh how I miss wearing mine...

It cracks me up about the Target lady! So funny...I can only imagine how that must have been!

    Brownies. I say enjoy.

  4. You look awesome! I hated when people touched my belly. You are of course different and I didn't mind the love rubs YOU gave. Random people, not so much.
