The start of our garden last year... can't wait to see this again :)
Yummy
The start of our corn
Can you all tell I am ready for spring and summer to arrive? It's right around the corner :)
Do you all have gardens? If so, what has been your favorite thing to grow? Last year we planted a bunch of tomato and basil plants... which I loved but I'm thinking of taking one of each out and trying something new. So I'd love some suggestions if you all have a garden of what has worked. Plus I don't want super high maintenance things since our little guy will arrive right when everything starts to come in. I mean I don't really think I can be out there picking tomatoes while feeding a newborn, although I may try ;)
Hope you all are enjoying the signs of spring arriving!
Your tomatoes look gorgeous. We attempted a garden last year, but all that made it were the cucumbers and...umm...cucumbers. Seriously, our garden was an epic fail last year. The dogs ate my pepper plants, chewed off my okra, and my tomatoes never produced. We have really crummy soil. So, that being said, I was all raring to go about working a garden this year...but not so sure how that's going to work out with a baby on board. We may end up pitching in between my folks and B's folks gardens and just take what we want when we need it. Hubby's Dad is a superb gardener, and all of his stuff always turns out great. I will keep an herb garden, though. I love having fresh rosemary, thyme, basil, chives and cilantro on hand! And, I might try some tomatoes in pots again. Maybe they'll make this year.
ReplyDeleteI am so happy you did this garden post! I am attempting the FIRST time EVER to grow something. I have such a black thumb it seems, so I am nervous it will be an epic failure. I may be asking advice :) I am trying bell peppers, tomatoes, and squash...I hear those are fairly easy to start with?!?! I hope!!
ReplyDeleteOn a completely unrelated note, we are going to do the date experiment monthly although I want to do them all right away b/c it was so fun, BUT it is hard to get out much w/ a baby (even though we are super lucky to have family to babysit) as you will soon discover!
Good luck w/ your garden!!!
This makes me laugh because Ryan planted an entire bed of peppers, all different kinds. That's his favorite thing to grow. :)
ReplyDeleteEverything dies in Texas, except Roses. Your garden looks tasty. Yah, I drove 4 hours to Oklahoma and then 4 hours back in one day. Waaaaaaay too much for Gooner. I don't think it would work for me to drive 8 hours on Friday with Gooner and then in a day, Sunday drive 8 hours back. NO FUN! We should totally work something out though for a different time!!!
ReplyDeleteNo garden for us. Maybe we will attempt a garden when we move home....here's to a garden in 2011!
ReplyDeletehaha, really cute name!!
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about changing mine for awhile since more people were reading that I didn't know. There were two things that broke the camel's back. One being a guy calling my husband asking for a job in our Company that had googled him and found our blog. He kept calling and knew things about him he shouldn't have. It was super creepy. Another being, a coworker that was really immature, googled our last name and found our blog. He would try and find things on there to pester my husband with. He thought it was all in good fun but it really started wearing on Ryan. :)
I just decided I didn't want people googling our last name and finding our blog anymore. I love meeting people through blogs but not the creepy kind.
