We are finally home after our whirlwind of Christmas visits. It was so wonderful to see all our family and spend some time with dear friends but there is nothing like being home and back in our own beds. LB is very happy to be home, in fact he is still sleeping. The latest he slept on vacation was 6:30am with no naps all day...like I said we are very happy to be home. If I had time I would go through all the details of our vacation and if I was good at remembering to take pictures I would post those too but I have neither, except the pictures I have stolen off facebook. I brought our camera and planned on taking lots of pictures then I got distracted talking to people or watching LB roll under trees and unto other babies. He is quite the rolly polly these days.
I am so glad to be home and back to my Keurig. I missed my coffeepot. Weird? Probably. But it is so nice to be able to make hot cups of coffee when I want them. I am now spoiled by my coffeepot. I also missed my Kindle and all the books I have downloaded. There was no time to read on vacation. Yes, hubs spoiled me and got me a kindle for Christmas, which I opened the week before so that is why I only did one lame post last week. I was too busy downloading books. I am a nerd. I had every intention of reading books while on vacation but LB was not in the mood to let others hold him or play with him without mommy or daddy in eye sight.
Here is one of the few Christmas pictures we got, which I took from my father in laws facebook. LB was dressed in a super cute red Christmas sweater outfit then he got too hot and screamed and screamed until we took it off. So all the pictures of him are in his broken white onesie. My hand is covering it up but one of the buttons doesn't snap. If only mommy was a better planner I would have at least packed a cute onesie. Oh well, he is a baby who cares what he is dressed in right?
Let me end by telling you about one of the worse blow outs we have experienced yet. We were on our way to our college ministry reunion, which was wonderful and so good to see all our old friends. So of course I dressed LB up super cute to show him off. We get to the reunion and start to get him out of the car and a horrible smell overpowers us. So we grab LB diaper bag in tow and b-line for the bathroom. As I am walking in I notice my hands are soaking wet. I move one of my hands so I can see and it is covered and I do mean covered in poo. So I hand LB off to Wade and we both go into the women's restroom together, no one was in there and I was in desperate need of another set of hands. We take all his clothes off and clean up the mess. We were only planning on being gone an hour and I had changed him right before we left so I didn't pack a back up cute outfit. Luckily I did have a set of jammies in the bag. Needless to say there was poop on everything including his carseat. Poor guy. I learned my lesson this Christmas season, always always pack multiple cute outfits.

Oh no! That sounds horrible!!
ReplyDeleteOh man, there's nothing like a good blowout! I'm also very attached to my own way of making coffee at home. I hate being away from home and not having my own good coffee whenever I want. And, I'm a big book nerd too. Love the Kindle!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh. I had no idea that you went through all that before the reunion! Geez! Well, you pulled it off. I don't think anybody knew what went down just moments before you got there. :)
