Random happenings

~1~ We have recently become the owners of a IPod touch. (which we acquired absolutely free from one of Wade's very gracious friends who found pity on us because we only have a ipod nano circa 2005) With this new addition to our household I have become obsessed with downloading apps. Seriously, if I find a free app I download it even if it's something I may never use. Its free therefore I want it. The last few nights I have made hubby stay up late to play scrabble with me. I beat him 305 to 195 on Friday night. I felt like quite the genius. Even though we all know he is the genius in this family, scrabble has always made me feel a little smarter. It is one of the few games I can always win at. That and monopoly because as a kid I always cheated, now a days I don't cheat so my winning is solely based on my abilities and maybe tricking hubs into giving me the best property ;)

~2~ Whole foods has an app. I am obsessed with using it. I can put in 3 ingredients I have on hand and it will give me a recipe for those things. Last night I made pumpkin turkey chili. It was really good. I would have never thought to add a can of pumpkin to white chili but it worked and was delicious. If you want the recipe and don't have the app let me know and I'll post it.

~3~ It's snowing. We had 70* weather on Thursday and it has progressively gotten colder and now is snowing. But at least we had a taste of spring. I can't wait to start our garden again and have LB out in it this summer picking strawberries. I am down to one bag of last summer's batch. I really need summer to get here so I can continue eating homegrown strawberries. After you have had them from your own garden none seem to compare.

~4~ Sleep. LB was doing so good at it. Sleeping through the night, going down without a fight. And then tooth six came in and then nasty cold came. And for the past week he has been up at 3am every night for an hour. Wanting to play or bite my nursing goods. I am not sure I can handle any more nights like this. Not even the strongest coffee is pulling my eyelids open. 

~5~ Happy Presidents Day! Normally I am a huge fan of holidays because that means hubs gets a day off. This holiday he has to work. So I guess its not a real holiday. Sorry Presidents you are not as important as Martin Luther King or the Fourth of July or Laborers. I would tell you all who my favorite President has been but I'm afraid I would loss some of you as followers if I did that. But don't worry it is not Obama. I said it. I am not a fan of him. Don't hate me for it. I'm just being honest here. And isn't that what blogging is all about? honesty. Like the fact I used to cheat at monopoly. But don't worry he is also not my least favorite President ever. Anyone care to share with me who your favorite President is and why? I promise I won't judge, even if it is my least favorite one.

~6~ Coupons. Do you all coupon? I have recently rediscovered a great website that makes couponing super easy. Its Money Saving Mom basically the site shows you all the deals you can get from multiple stores and online shops plus tons of tabs for your specific browsing needs. One deal I found the other day was 10% of wipes from amazon with the code: momwipes If you combine that with Amazon Mom and Subscribe and Save you can get a box of 720 pampers wipes for $14. Pretty great deal. Do you all have any favorite couponing sites I should check out?
