This week has gone by so quick. I can't believe that on Sunday we will be considered full-term. Little man is going to be here before we know it! Craziness, in a good way but crazy none the less. I can't wait to see what he looks like. I have actually begun packing my hospital bag but I really have no clue what to put in it. I am just putting some random things in it as if I'm taking a weekend trip. Ya know some makeup, hair care items, cute shirts, slippers, etc. I also added a poll on here to have you all guess if he will be early, on time, or late. So happy guessing :) I am very curious as this whole time I have thought he will arrive on my birthday, which is Memorial Day and about 2 weeks early, but that may just be wishful thinking ;) So again, hubs has been slammed at work so my pictures this week are of me with my parents during their visit this past weekend.

My dad trying to be a miserable pregnant lady...too funny!
How far along? 36 weeks 5 days
Baby is the size of a(n): breadbox. He is about 18.5 inches long and a little over 6 lbs.
Changes in me: Well I have begun my weekly doctor visits. I go see her every Monday, and at this last appointment found out I'm 50% effaced and 1 cm. dilated. We will see how long I stay at that measurement. I'm still continuing to have braxton hicks a few times each day, mainly in the morning, before bed, and in the middle of the night.... but none of them have been consistent.
Food cravings: Pasta. I make something with noodles almost everyday for lunch and sometimes for dinner also. So yummy. Although, I have to lay off tomato base sauces and all my pineapples as I have so many sores in my mouth and on the sides of my mouth... but its so hard cause those things taste the best. Just typing the word pineapple makes me want to go eat another one. I seriously eat 3 pineapples a week, but this week I limited myself to 1 in hopes that it would clear up some of these sores.
Sleeping: As good as it can get. I have been waking up at like 5:30am lately really wanting juice. Most mornings I can go get it then fall back asleep for a little while but some mornings I can't fall back asleep. But I figure I should get use to this sleep schedule as I'm sure little man will be keeping me up all hours of the day and night.
Milestones: He has developed a pattern of sleep and wakefulness now, and opens his eyes when awake and closing them while asleep. He is getting better at not kicking me all night long so maybe he has begun using the night for sleeping... I can only hope ;)
Babies activity: He's my little rolly polly. He is constantly rolling from one side to the other and stretching his knees out as much as he can. Lately he has been sticking his heels into my ribs during his stretching routine. I can slowly see his foot start heading that way and sometimes I can intercept it but most of the time my hand being there means nothing to him and he will just bypass me and head to the cushion of my ribs. He is head down now so whenever I get up to quickly he will head butt my bladder resulting in me fleeing to the bathroom.
Interesting things that happened this past week: Quite a few funny things happened this week. The first was last Saturday, we were at a verizon store getting my dad added to our phone plan and as I was getting the contract signed my dad was talking to a lady in line (seriously, my dad can start a conversation with anyone anywhere we are and make it last 20 mins. makes me laugh everytime). So anyways my dad is talking to her and I here her say loudly "She still has 4 weeks left, she looks HUGE." I turn towards her and hear her daughter (whose about 30) say "Mom she looks good" I just laugh and say yep he is going to be a big boy. But really I thought if I could produce tears on the spot it would be the perfect opportunity to do so and teach the lady to never ever tell a pregnant woman she looks huge...even if it is true. I could not believe she said that so loudly. My dad stopped talking to her after that but I couldn't stop laughing the rest of the day whenever I thought about her.
The next funny thing happened when I went out to lunch at Olive Garden. I had gone into the bathroom and as I was heading there two older women were in front of me. We all went into our stalls and all of a sudden I hear one lady talking. I assumed she was talking to the other lady so I go about my business and then hear her say " i know you dont know me but I just wanted to tell you, you're all belly" At this point she had been talking for a good minute so I decided to not respond. As I walk up to the sink she gets out of her stall and restarts the whole conversation with me. It was really sweet though because she kept telling me I looked good. It just made me laugh that she shouted the conversation across the bathroom while we were in the stalls.
Hope you all have a great weekend! We are suppose to be getting close to 90* weather all weekend and week. I'm thinking I will just stay inside in an ice bath all week long ;)
oooh so close! I had my daughter at 38 weeks, so it is possible to go early on your first one. ;)
ReplyDeleteDon't forget to pack stuff to do, in case you have some time to kill while waiting to get to a 10. I personally, had all this stuff and didn't get to do any of it. Otherwise it sounds like you have it covered, it is like packing for a weekend away. Oh, and extra batteries for your camera(s).
I hope he does come on your birthday, that would be so fun!
Oh, this is so exciting!!! I don't know about him coming on your birthday because every one deserves their own day ;) but it would be an AWESOME gift!
ReplyDeleteWeirdo stall conversations. You are awesome. She sensed that and wanted to be your friend. I TOTALLY get that! ;)
it's just around the corner now! i'm 38 weeks and am so surprised she hasn't come yet! my 1st was 17 days early so i thought this one would be here by now. but, it's nice, because this just means more sleep for me! : ) seriously, get rest now while you can! you look adorable!!! have a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteHey Kelley, thanks for stopping by my blog! I'm glad you found me - I've checked in on you from time to time from Lindsey's blog. Too funny that your dad is in this post - I remember him from volleyball! I can't believe how soon your little boy will be here! Congrats!
