Monday Miscellany

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

Hop on over to Carissa's blog and join in the miscellany.

~1~ I went through our deep freeze this weekend and realized we have two months worth of food in there. Not kidding, I have like 10 things I will need to pick up from the store in the next 2 months, minus milk and fruit, so excited to not have a grocery budget to kick off this new year.

~2~ Our next door neighbors got a puppy this summer. Often I see her in our backyard pooping and running through our garden. Apparently she has found a hole in the fence and slips right though it. I don't want to be that neighbor but I am getting sick of their puppy, especially since this summer LB will be playing in the backyard and I don't want to have to clean up any other poop then I already have to. Good thing I have a few more months to think about how to approach them. Oh and this same neighbor is a hair-dresser and has told me to call her to get my hair done. I've called 3 times, each time she is too busy with her existing clients. Um...maybe she is avoiding me because she knows I will ask about their puppy.

~3~ I have found a new milk and it is delicious. Vanilla coconut milk. I have only seen this at target so far. I guess now I really do have an excuse to shop there weekly...thank you coconut milk :)

~4~ I fell asleep at 10:30 on New Year's Eve. I really did try to stay awake but once hubby's eyes closed I couldn't keep mine open. But luckily LB sensed it was a night worth celebrating and woke up at midnight. He screamed in the New Year for us. I'm thinking it was due in part to the massive amount of fireworks going off outside his window. Thank you down the street neighbors for that one, you are too kind.

~5~ I am not one for resolutions because lets face it I am lucky if I remember everything on my grocery list while at the store. But I have been thinking about one resolution I am sure would make my life easier. That is to actually spend time in The Word daily. I think each day I am going to open my bible and spend time soaking in God's presence. But then LB screams me awake and I begin shuffling away at my to do list. I try to cut myself slack and say it's okay God knows you care about Him, but really there is no excuse for it. I would never go a day without showing my amazing hubby how much I love him and appreciate all he does for our family but yet I act like it is okay to treat Our Amazing God that way. Shame on me. Please bloggy friends send me loving reminds to seek our Lord each day.

Hope you all are having a great start to the New Year. Twenty-eleven is going to be a year full of awesome opportunities the Lord has in store for you!

  1. Oh - the daily time with God is so challenging! Especially with a little one. It's VERY hard to find just the right time - and that time is always changing. I used to wait for nap time, then sometimes after we'd settled into our morning - had breakfast etc. I would had a quiet time while my kids watched a new movie from the Library or played together in their room.
Hope you are able to get into the habit and find the right time - it really is life changing!

  2. Have you read your Word today? I have that same goal so let's keep one another accountable! Sorry the puppy is coming over and leaving a mess. I hope your neighbor will be understanding when you approach her. Maybe you can get hubby to put a board over the hole? Have a great day!

  3. Maybe just find the hole and block it yourself? Then you don't have to go to the neighbours at all!

  4. Just sitting here reading your blog, eating an orange. (Glad I am not the only one that has had a citrus obsession during pregnancy) I agree to find the hole and patch it yourself-way easier and you avoid the convo. And I like this miscellany monday thing I may jump on board.

  5. I wish we could find the hole and patch it. this dog is teeny tiny. The neighbors have patched 5 holes and the dog keeps slipping through other ones. Little rascal :)

  6. You could always shoot the dog. ;) Ok, for reals though, that is annoying. And and and, the poop? I'm all for dogs but seriously. Take care of your OWN dog thank you very much! Someone here has a dog and didn't pick up the poop so my other neighbor confronted her and she actually said, "Oh, I don't have to pick up the poop. I'm RENTING." I guess because she doesn't own the HOA rules don't apply to her. I don't know...

  7. Yay! Bring on the New Year!

Ryan & I have decided to read through the whole bible this year. I'm not sure if I've ever done it but we're doing the chronological bible. Should be good!
