Whew, what a busy weekend we had! The in-laws came up for a visit and spent the whole weekend helping W build things around the house. They started off with a simple project that of course ended up as a bigger project, doesnt it seem to always work that way? But in the end it worked much better and gave LB more playing space downstairs so I can't complain. That first project was a floor to ceiling bookshelf. W loves to read and collect books he says nothing compares to flipping through the pages of a well read book. I on the other hand love my kindle, I love how all my books are in one spot and I can easily go between them all without little mister ripping the pages as I read. In any case W's books were slowly over taking our living space so a new bookshelf was in order. I wish I had taken a before picture for you all so you could see the huge mess these books were.
New bookshelf..also note I lost my lovely corner desk and now have a little bitty desk to work from but the space looks so much better now.
Next up was building a storage shelf in the garage to store all the things we don't use as often. The in-laws even picked up new storage containers for me to fill up. I am so excited to declutter and go label making happy with it. The garage looks much more organized now and I can't wait to fill up the shelves so the house will feel less cluttered too. That is my project for this week and upcoming weekend. Hopefully I can get it done my this weekend so we can work on the garden. Once its all organized I'll show you all a picture of the space.
We also had beautiful weather this weekend so LB and I spent lots of time outdoors watching the progress from afar. It was nice to be able to hang out outdoors and see all the neighbor kids running around knowing that in a year or two LB will be right out there with them. Oh did I mention the neighbors sold their house? And they will be moving our in the next month or so. Apparently the new family moving in has a baby around LBs age! I happened to catch a glimpse of them driving away after the home inspection and they look about our age. So excited to hopefully have a young family next door with a new playmate for LB.
watching daddy work with his "tools" ready to go
LB was such a ham this weekend too! Every time W's dad went to take a picture LB would make the best cheese face. His personality was definitely shining through this weekend. He also has begun pulling up on everything and cruising around the house. It is so fun to see him pull himself to a stand and then watch his big smile come across his face knowing he accomplished something.
Say cheese

The last pic is just WAY too cute! Congrats on making some progress in the house, I've been in the process of de cluttering the past month or two and it feels so good. Can't wait to have a garage sale! Hope you get some awesome neighbors!
ReplyDeleteLook at all those teeth!! I love the book shelf redo. You should show us pics of your garage too!
ReplyDeleteWhen will you be in town this month?? We for sure have to hang out! Let me know because we definitely need some updated pictures. ;)
I agree with Lindsey, look at those teeth!
ReplyDeleteI want to meet him! He's going to be five isn't he. One day I'm going to get a CHristmas card where you have like five kids and I haven't met any of them! FYI - I'm not bitter. ;)
