Monday Miscellany

I feel like this weekend went by in a blink. It was definitely hard to wake up this morning and get back in the groove of the week. Sigh.
So to make Monday more fun I decided to join in the miscellany over at Carissa blog. Hop on over there and check it out.
Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

~1~ One of my friends had a great idea to try a different hair do everyday for 30 days. I thought about joining her on this experiment but then I realized I am lucky if I shower everyday and fix my hair. So I may modify her great idea and just do a different hairstyle on the weekend. So anyways I decided to take a picture of my natural hair to give you all an idea of what I'm working with. I plan on giving  you all a picture each Monday of what I did for the weekend, we shall see how this works ;) Head over to Lisa's blog to see her great do's and gain some inspiration.
~2~ You all are wonderful! Thanks for all your comments, emails, and text offering tips for me and my little biter. One of my favorite tips was a book, Love and Logic Magic for Early Childhood by Jim Fay and Charles Fay. I have already started reading it and so many wonderful ideas are in it. Great easy read.

~3~ W and I got a surprise date night this weekend. It was wonderful. W's mom had come in town to go to the zoo with LB and I on Friday and that night offered to watch him so we could go out. We didn't hesitate on taking her up on that offer. It is always wonderful to get out with my man and enjoy one another's company. We lately have been listening to a sermon series called Peasant Princess by Mark Driscoll at Mars Hill Church. It was nice to be able to have time to discuss what we have been learning through it and his (Mark Driscoll) view on Song of Solomon. LB had a great time with his GiGi. We came home to her reading him his favorite book.

~4~ Sunday morning we decided to venture out to church. (I have been a nervous wreck about putting LB in the nursery after his allergic reaction). I got myself all prepared to take him into the nursery and enjoy church service with the hubs. Well on our way there we decided to stop and get coffee since LB was sound asleep in the car and we thought we had time to kill. As I ran in to get my drink W decided to look up what sermon series they were going through at church and came to realize we in fact were not going to be early to church but instead a half hour late!  Needless to say we didn't make it to church this week. So glad we made that coffee stop or else we would've walked in on the middle of a message and been so confused ;)

~5~ Our first peppers have come in from the garden! This is my favorite time of year, when all our garden vegetables come into bloom. Nothing beats fresh from the vine peppers and tomatoes. I foresee lots of tomato sauce and canning in our very near future.

  2. I'm definitely guilty of the boring old 1-2 hairdos max! And I'm at a stage where I'm really tired of my hair right now. Maybe I could be a little more creative, but definitely not a new one each day!

Fresh tomatoes are unbeatable. Mine are starting to ripen now, and they're so good they're like a completely different thing from what you would buy in a store!

  7. Oh goodness, my hair is like the same every day and I have no desire to change this. :) Maybe that is why you are so fabulous. Dates are awesome. I'm a little jealous. Woohoo!

  8. Not fair...Your natural hair looks fabulous! So, I just recently saw your post about LB's allergic reaction. Yikes! That's so scary. My son had a severe allergic reaction to a peanut-butter cookie over Christmas, just after he turned one. It was horrific because he was COVERED in swollen, red hives and was puking and we were 5 HOURS from home at my In-Laws. Anyhow, avoiding allergens can be tricky (ESPECIALLY around holidays or at church potlucks!) but it becomes easier as they get older and KNOW that they're allergic to certain foods. Maybe it's an allergy that your little man will grow out of? Best wishes in preventing any more attacks.
