Time for my monthly weigh in and thoughts. I still haven't figured out the most useful way to do this check in thing so if any of you have suggestions or things you want to know about I am all for it.
But before I begin that here is one of AB's newborn pictures that the talented Chloe took. Don't steal it please.
Thoughts:
Well life with two littles is a lot of work. A blessing, but a lot of work. I am slowly getting back in the groove of home management but it is slow coming. If you come to my house most days it will look as if a tornado hit us and I will most likely look that way too. I am constantly covered in some bodily fluid and am wearing a baby on me. I also don't shower each day so its likely the stink you smell coming into my house is me or one of my children. ::Keeping it real here.:: I am beyond blessed by friends and family who came and provided meals this last month and an extra set of hands. I'm not sure I could've made it through the first month without all the wonderful help.
I have not started any exercising yet. I have my appointment on Monday and will hopeful get the all clear from the doctor to resume running. I can't wait to get back out although I know it will be slow and I probably won't get out very often at first but it'll be a good start.
Last week we went to the grocery store and I stocked our house full of fresh fruits and vegetables so we could get back into healthy eating. Today we will venture out again and restock the house. I know if all we have to eat is healthy options I will be much less likely to binge eat on awful things. I still keep a stock of "junk" food around for the days I just need some chips or chocolate but I am trying to keep that pile small and hidden for emergencies ;)
This week I am getting back to menu planning and fresh eating. Our garden has exploded with tomatoes, peppers, celery, and eggplant so I am sure I will be eating lots of meals with those 4 things in it. I also cooked up a huge crock pot full of white beans and will be making some Tuscan white bean soup with it to have for lunches. Don't think I am going all healthy though I still have my coffee heavily creamed in the morning and my coke during nap time. But I am trying to drink more water throughout my day too.
Other than that most of the weight loss I have seen is from chasing a toddler and carrying around a 12 pound baby in the process. I am sure breastfeeding contributes a little to the loss too.
Although, I have to admit breastfeeding makes me so hungry! I am always on the lookout for healthy snack options that don't include nuts so if you all have any please shoot it my way.
Weigh in picture style:
Weight at hospital: 176 pounds
Weight to date: 153 pounds
Weight lose: 23 pounds
Pounds to go: 17 pounds
{Okay so the pounds to go is based on my pre-pregnancy weight. I know it is very possible I may not get down to that weight again and I am okay with that I just want to be fit and healthy regardless of the number on the scale.}
I think the biggest body shock post baby is how soft your belly stays. It feels like jello and my belly button is so deep. I know eventually it will tighten back up but the new curves are here to stay. Oddest thing this time around, stretch marks on my belly button. Seriously, who knew you could get stretch marks there? Luckily they are tiny but still odd.
I think thats all the info I have for you this month. Feel free to ask away :)

Adorable pic up top! And I think you look great for 1mo pp! This baby has already made me "pop". I think it's going to take a hardcore toning workout to get that soft baby belly gone after this one. It's a tough thing to get a handle on! My metabolism tanked after I weaned Sprig, so I dread the weight loss this time around. Ahhhhh, oh well. They're worth a little flab, eh? ;)
ReplyDeleteI hear you on the super soft belly. It's so weird! I bet you'll be able to lose all your weight, but of course things will not be the same as they once were. :) I don't think I'll ever get my belly to be the way it once was, or maybe some day when the kids are school age and I have lots of time to work out!
ReplyDeleteMy belly button is completely different than it was pre-babies. I've lost the weight (finally), but some things will just never look the same. Have you read Loving the Little Years? The author has a chapter related to this topic, and it has such a refreshing, encouraging perspective on our bodies as mommies. You are beautiful friend!
ReplyDeleteI love that you are doing this! People never talk about that part of post pregnancy. You look great! :)
ReplyDeleteYou look fabulous. It takes sooooooo long to look decent again. Love you!
