Weekend Recap

Sorry to be MIA the past couple days but it has been a busy week around our house. This weekend Wade's dad came in town to help us Wade build our my pantry. I am so excited to almost have a pantry in the kicthen! When it gets done I will post a picture of the finished piece of art :) I cannot wait! Then after we get that done Wade will begin the process of painting our kitchen/dining/living room combo. It is going to be quite the long process. Needless to say this Valentine's Day was spent with the father in law and a house full of dust, but I wouldn't trade it for a fancy dinner since I am getting a pantry out of the deal.

This Monday Wade had ear surgery to fix a genetic condition he has. Basically the bones in his ears fused together and cause his middle bone not to transmit sound to the rest of his ear. So the doctor goes into his ear, files down the bone, and then implants a metal piston into that space to transmit the sound better. It really is a cool process and we are so thankful God has given the knowledge to doctors to be able to perform this operation. Wade had his left ear surgery done this summer and it made such a huge difference in his hearing. It was really cool to go in to the doctor and get the packing removed and see how much better Wade's hearing was. We are praying that God allows the same healing to happen in his right ear which was operated on this Monday. We are also so thankful for the ear doctor we have. He has been such a blessing and reminds us that if the implant sticks it was all because of God . And that he as a doctor is just God's hands putting that implant in there but that it is all God's work. I love that. I love that our doctor is not afraid to share his faith to us. We didn't even know he was a Christian until the first appointment we went to where he shared with us how he sees his job as a doctor as a missions field to reach people. I walked away praying that God gave Wade and I the same hearts. Hearts to use our jobs as a mission field regardless of what other people think. God has called us all to share His love in whatever capacity we can from where He has placed us.

Sorry for this rambling of a post I just think it is so cool that God is working right now in Wade's surgery to heal his ear and give Wade the ability to praise Him more. It also challenges me to be thankful for the hearing I have and praise God in that.

Hope you all are having a great week. I am finishing up my last week of full-time work and can't wait to update you all on what a great thing God has done for Wade, me, and our baby boy. But for now I must get some sleep.

  1. So awesome Kelley! I'm happy for you guys. It is so cool that God brought you all together with Wade's doctor. Just seeing how God's plan unfolds with every little detail of our lives....one could never deny the Truth of our Father.

  2. That is very awesome! I love it when medical professionals realize that God is ultimately the Master Physician! What a neat thing to be working with a Dr. who shares that feeling.
It's been a crazy week for us, too. I haven't done much blogging, better get on that. :)
