A glimpse inside our home

Our living/kitchen/dining combo is finally repainted! It feels so good. I just took the pictures so the lighting isn't the best but I was excited to get all the pictures up to show you all and see how much progress has been made. Here our a few of the pictures of the finished work and a couple before pics so you can see what it was like before we moved in.

Living room. Again, you cant see the color well in here but I wanted to show off our new decal we added. My favorite verse "Be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10

The old kitchen (before we moved in last year):

Our kitchen. New colors, and new fridge

The finished pantry! I love love love it! :)

The old closet:

And this wall is where a closet use to be, on the backside is the pantry. Looks so good, you cant even tell a closet was here to begin with

Well there it is! So nice to have a big chunk of our house done. Now we only have our room/bathroom, the guest room, and the downstairs living room to paint. But those rooms can all wait until after lil man arrives. I love having our house finally feel like it is our home. It was so hard to decorate with the old colors cause they weren't us all. It feels so good to be able to decorate and make our home even homier (if that is even a word). I especially love the pantry! I am able to fit all my baking goods in there and all our other canned things as well as some of my appliance that I don't use as much.

I also have another part of the baby's room done. So sometimes this week I will go ahead and post that. It is starting to become very real that soon we will have a child and be parents! It's sometimes hard to think that we are adults now and we own a house and will soon be a famiy of three. It seems like just yesterday I was pestering my parents to let me go to the movie with friends and now I am going to have a baby. Is that ever weird to you all?

I remember as a little girl people would always tell me to stop trying to be a grown up or wishing to be big because soon I will wish I was a little girl again and able to run around and be free. Funny how you don't realize how true those words are until you are an adult. No more spending hours combing barbies hair, playing dress up, or watching cartoons all saturday long. Not that I wish I wasn't an adult but it is funny how quickly life passes you by and if you don't take time to really enjoy the moments and places God has placed you at you will lose precious memories and opportunities. All that to say, I am trying to enjoy these last few weeks of pregnancy cause I know I will never be able to have this time again. Never again will I have the joy of becoming a parent for the first time or being totally alone with my husband on the weekends and evenings. I am definitely excited for this new stage of life God is blessing us with but I want to soak in these last few weeks of the season I am in now. Hope you all are able to take time and enjoy what God is doing for you right now and what season He is having you in. Every season of life has its challeges and joys but each one God has placed you in for a reason, so live it up to the fullest of God's intent! :)

  1. I am just now starting to get use to the idea I am a mom and Leighton is mine. I use to keep wondering when her real parents were going to pick her up. HA!
But you are right enjoy every last second of this pregnancy, b/c life will never be the same. And if you think your childhood flew by just wait b/c watching your own baby grow goes WAY too fast!
PS your home looks amazing! Can't wait to see how the rest of it turns out.

I should have just scrolled up to the top before I left the previous comment about "can't wait to see the finished rooms". Ha! I love your style! I hope someday to come visit you and see it in person. :)
