health(ier) chocolate chip cookies

So this whole non-dairy diet has led me to experiment alot in the kitchen. My latest experiment was with chocolate chip cookies, because anyone who knows me knows I have a huge sweet tooth. So here is a recipe I came up with that is at least a little healthier than the alternative cookie.  And I will add even hubs ate them and said they taste alot like the real version, so they are in fact tasty!

Chocolate Chip Cookies
1 C+ 2 TB whole wheat all-purpose flour
1 C + 2 TB all-purpose flour
1 t. baking powder
1 t. salt
1 cup applesauce
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 t. vanilla
2 eggs
1 cup carob chips
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 cup walnuts

Beat eggs, applesauce, and sugars together. Add vanilla. Slowly incorporate flours, baking powder and salt. Stir in chips and walnuts. Bake at 375* for 9-11 minutes.

There you have it, a healthier chocolate chip cookie. Hope you enjoy :)
